I’m excited to present DREAMSCAPE at the Jung Center from April 5 through May 14. My selection of lumen prints of leaves and flowers seldom represent reality but more closely represent what you might find in your dreams. While you can quickly identify the flowers and trees in many photographs, others will leave you guessing.

Lumen Prints–A Paradox?
The creation of lumen prints is somewhat of a paradox because these beautiful color prints are made with the black & white photo paper that I use to print my photographs from film in the darkroom.
Visions of Art at The Jung Center
I’m thrilled to have three of my recent lumen prints in The Jung Center’s “Visions” exhibition. The reception is June 1, from 5-7 PM.
It’s a Really BIG Show
Many of my friends and I often try to get into a couple of local visual arts exhibitions. I’ve been accepted into both of them at different times, but never during the same year. Lawndale Art Center, one of the two exhibition sponsors, recently announced their call for entry for the 2024 BIG Show. I was accepted into their 2023 juried exhibition and enjoyed my eight-month relationship that ended with an auction and brunch at their facility.
It’s a FOTOFestival!
March in Houston marks the start of Bluebonnets and spring festivals. On alternate years, it’s also the year of FotoFest. This year’s theme is Critical Geography, and I’m fortunate that I’m associated with two organizations that are serving as Participating Spaces.

Best Christmas Memory
My Dad passed away in 2018, and my Mom followed him just 19 months later. So many of my Christmas traditions were initiated by them, and I think of them often during the holiday season. In the few minutes just after I awoke this morning, I was thinking about Christmas 1969.
Artists Helping to Build Homes
For the third year, I’m proud to be one of the participating artists in Art on the Avenue. Art on the Avenue is the biggest silent auction of local art in Houston, and a great place to buy art for yourself or as a gift. Proceeds support Avenue’s mission to enhance the quality of life for working families, and to promote healthy, vibrant, and economically diverse neighborhoods in Houston. Mark your calendar for December 1-3.
